We are excited to announce the new SYSA deckhand training app that we have been working on for the last year. As a training centre, we have looked at ways to prepare our crew for the journey that lies ahead, which is sometimes challenging, given how competitive the industry is today. Our team of instructors are industry veterans who have created this pre and post-course training to produce the best entry-level crew recognised worldwide.
Over the years, students have become aware of the fantastic benefits of joining the super yachting industry. Subsequently, finding work then became challenging, so we created this app. We wanted to give our students the best possible chance of finding and keeping a job on superyachts.
The SYSA deckhand training app is available to our past, present, and future SYSA students. Access to the app is a one-time fee of R450, giving students lifetime access.
Why should I sign up if I have already done the deckhand training module?
Students enrolled in the deckhand course already receive a lot of practical information on entering the industry, including career progression, CVs, visas, crew agencies, banking, and helpful deckhand tips. The information on the app takes this up a notch, arming you with even more knowledge, tips, and resources to increase your chances of finding work.
What does the app include?
The SYSA deckhand app is divided into pre-and post-course training and consists of the following:

- RYA Jet Ski Instructors

The app will constantly evolve as new content, videos, and links to other yachting industries are added and updated. Phase one focuses on pre- and post-learning. We will be adding career progression pathways with our partners overseas, crew house accommodation and bookings, as well as additional learning material in the next 6-8 months.
